It's been a little over a month since I photographed this gem of a wedding at Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley and I can still feel the high the day gave me! Mahsa and Blake, will forever go down as one of my all time favorite couples to work with, and once you read about their special day, you'll understand why!
Mahsa and Blake live in Colorado so I wasn't able to meet them in person until a week before their wedding day. Luckily, we hit it off immediately and when I saw the way the two interacted with each other, I knew it was going to be an incredible wedding weekend. The weather, on the other hand, had other plans.
My team and I arrived at the ranch under a dark grey sky. It was forecasted to rain all day which made me worried that I may be walking in to meet an unhappy wedding party. I was pleasantly surprised by everyone's upbeat attitude and their excitement for the day was electric, dark skies be damned. Mahsa and Blake knew that their marriage would make even the stormiest day bright and warm.
We also have Audrey, wedding planner extraordinaire from Engaged and Inspired to thank for seamlessly coordinating the day. Her calming presence and preparedness for the day allowed the couple to still hold their ceremony on the outside lawn.
Our hearts melted when we saw Blake break down into tears as he saw his beautiful wife to be walking down the aisle. You could tell that everything else melted away when they set eyes on each other. Their ceremony was beautiful and we even had a quick break from the rain to take some portraits before it began pouring again. Mahsa was such a trooper, she didn't think twice about her dress getting dirty because she knew that we wanted photos to commemorate the day.
Their reception, which was also supposed to be held outdoors, was transferred into the barn, thanks again to Audrey's quick thinking! We spent the nights with the couple and their incredibly supportive group of friends and family. We were overwhelmed by the love for the couple and light hearted nature of the group.
I truly love my job and it is because of couples like Mahsa and Blake, who put their complete trust in me to ensure we didn't miss a single, joyous moment. It was a mind blowingly incredible day and I wish it is one I could relive over and over again. Congratulations Mahsa and Blake! I miss you two already!
